During a meeting held this week at the offices of the Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA), UNESCO Cultural Director Tamara Twinasky announced UNESCO's full collaboration with SCA to restore and preserve Egyptian archaeological sites that have been inscribed on the World Heritage List since 1979.

The Secretary General of the SCA, Mohamed Abdel Fatah, told Ahram Online that Twinasky pledged UNESCO's full support to continue the restoration and development work now taking place at the Memphis Necropolis (Giza, Abusir, Dahshur and Saqqara), especially in Dahshur and Saqqara, which were originally thought to culminate this year.

He also told the media that UNESCO will give its full support to complete the construction work of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) in order to meet the opening deadline of March 2012.

At the end of this month, Twinasky said that a technical specialist and international consultant assigned by UNESCO will visit Egypt to inspect the restoration work that was carried out on the Pyramid of Djoser, considered the first pyramid in history, and provide all the advice. that is necessary.

After studying History at the University and after many previous tests, Red Historia was born, a project that emerged as a means of dissemination where to find the most important news of archeology, history and humanities, as well as articles of interest, curiosities and much more. In short, a meeting point for everyone where they can share information and continue learning.
