The Ixtepete pyramid, the only archaeological site of Guadalajara, continues to be ignored despite the number of existing plans to excavate the ruins properly and build a museum on site prior to the Pan American Games.

The prehispanic ruins dating from the Epiclassic period, around 650, is located on Avenida Mariano Otero, on the city's ring road, the site is open to the public at no cost, although it is only popular with visitors during the spring equinox .

In 2007, the National Institute of History and Anthropology (INAH) announced that 52 million Mexican pesos would be made available (2,930,485 euros approximately) to transform Ixtepete into a major tourist attraction before the Pan American Games, although these plans were never carried out.

A lonely sign reveals the age of the ruins and provides basic information about the way they were built, but the only sign of life in recent times is the visit of a group of local children participating in a soccer team next to the remains of the ancient pyramid.

After studying History at the University and after many previous tests, Red Historia was born, a project that emerged as a means of dissemination where to find the most important news of archeology, history and humanities, as well as articles of interest, curiosities and much more. In short, a meeting point for everyone where they can share information and continue learning.
